Health & Safety for our Campers and Other Kid Events

Injuries and Illnesses

Camp staff is trained in First Aid, CPR, EpiPen administration and in the appropriate handling of bodily fluids. If a child should become sick or injured during the course of the camp day, we will take appropriate measures to ensure their well-being and notify the family immediately. We may require an immediate pick-up of your child.

Do not send your child to camp if you suspect he or she may be ill, and has exhibited any of the following signs or symptoms:

• If you have been exposed to anyone with COVID or someone exhibiting COVID symptoms.
• Any symptoms of COVID19 and/or elevated temperature of 99.9 degrees or more during the last 24 hours.
• Vomiting within the last 24 hours.
• Repeated episodes of diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
• Chills, loss of appetite, unusual fatigue, and/or lingering headache.
• A significant amount of nasal discharge, particularly if the discharge is yellow or greenish in color.
• A persistent cough.
• A significant sore throat.
• An earache.

If your child has a serious communicable disease, please notify us immediately so we can notify other families who may have been affected.

Allergies

If your child has life-threatening allergies, it is imperative that Paint Away staff be informed. Health or emergency plans must be submitted in writing and shall include the allergy, health consequences, symptoms of reaction, and procedures. This information will be kept at the store. With authorization from your healthcare provider, medications such as Benadryl or EpiPens can be kept in the store for the week of camp while your child is attending camp. Paint Away cannot guarantee that a child will not be exposed to allergens whether known or unknown. However, we will take reasonable precautions when given appropriate notification.

Emergency Contact and Consent

Please make sure you have provided Paint Away with the current Emergency Contact information. Paint Away cannot administer any medication during camp, including over-the counter, non-prescription medication, and homeopathic remedies. However, the Parent or Guardian of the camper grants permission to the Paint Away staff to administer first aid to the student, including administration of EpiPen with proper authorization from your healthcare provider, as well as to seek medical attention and to release information regarding the camper as deemed necessary.
